That Touch of Mink (1962)

THAT TOUCH OF MINK  (1962)  ¢ ¢
    D: Delbert Mann
Cary Grant, Doris Day, Gig Young,
Audrey Meadows, John Astin, Dick Sargent
This is like a Rock-and-Doris movie with Cary Grant in the Rock Hudson role and Gig Young filling in for Tony Randall. Grant plays a playboy business executive and Doris is the good-girl computer machine operator who catches his wandering eye. A trivial romantic comedy, way beneath the talents of everybody involved. The gags don't fly, and the risqué jokes and gender stereotyping haven't aged well. Watching it, you can't help thinking that the real reason Grant walked away from movies a few years later was to avoid reading scripts like this. Young is the best thing in it.
