A controversial movie at the time (and maybe even now), about a child molester trying to go straight after three years in prison, and facing down a past that keeps crowding in on him. The group therapy sessions are disturbing and might not meet recognized professional guidelines, but that's something I don't know much about. Whitman, who got an Oscar nomination for this, gives the performance of his career.
